Laura Abney

Laura is a founder, owner, and operator of Rafie Douglas Abney Law, PLLC. Laura’s legal career includes five years representing injured workers all across Texas. She has served as the lead hearing attorney at her previous firm and regularly managed a docket of 100+ cases. She also handled numerous District Court cases to successful verdicts. She ran the Social Security Disability section at the firm as well. She also worked for “the other side” for several years and gained crucial knowledge about how the insurance companies work.
Laura was born and raised in Duncanville, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in 2010. She graduated with her J.D. in 2014 as one of the first graduating classes for Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas. She is proud to be a second-generation attorney following in her father’s large footsteps.
Mrs. Abney currently resides in Carrollton, Texas with her husband Kyle and their four rescue dogs. She is an active member of Watermark Community Church and serves whenever possible. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, attending Dallas sporting events, and traveling.
